Testimonial
Azumi Kikuyama (Aged care course)
1.What is the reason to take this course?
I wanted to get Aged Care Certificate to be able to work at a nursing centre in Australia,
2.What class did you begin in?
I began in Pre Intermediate class.
3.How long did you study English?
I studied English for 17 weeks.
4.Please explain 3-days lectures at the training centre.
First day, we had lectures and group work. Also I had to do assignments. On the second and third day, I went to the nursing home and had a practicum.
5.Where did you go for the internship and what did you do?
The training centre arranged the nursing home which is close to my unit.
In my case, I was assigned to a nursing house in Mascot. Each student supports each AIN(Assistant in nursing). In the first week I mainly observed what AIN was doing and in the second week
I helped the elderly to eat and take showers.
6.After the internship, what happened?
I found a job as AIN at a nursing home closeto the place I am living now.
7.Please write a message for people who are planning to take this course in the future.
If you already have experience in working as an aged care worker/nurse etc, the practicum part should be easy. The assignment part is hard as there are heaps to do. You should make friends when you have the 3-day lectures and co-operate with each other. The things learnt from the training course were all very
useful and I’m positive that it was a really good decision to take this course. Do your best!!
※The provider of this course is not recognised by NEAS Australia nor is it a
CRICOS registered course.
You will need to be on a valid visa such as a working holiday visa or a
student visa with sufficient time remaining before its expiry.
